  3. First part:
It motivates me to continue studying to think of a better future and to have many dreams that I really hope to fulfill.

    Second part:
There are more work advantages if you studied at a university
Free college education guarantees the same opportunities
Create opportunities for poor people to succeed
    Vocational training is beneficial

    Third part:
Although the government gives money, students still have to pay other expenses
The free university costs the government a lot of money that has to raise taxes
It is unfair to send messages to people who regularly work for a minority to study

The last paragraph argues for balance.

  4. First, the reason I study is to be able to help my family and have economic stability, since none of my parents have college studies, it is impossible for them to obtain a pension that is enough to subsist, it is my obligation to find a method to study without their full help, to later support them.

Speaking of the subject, more specifically, I agree with public education since it reduces the barrier of difficult access for people with low economic resources, in this way, they can fight for a better social status.

On the other hand, I disagree that they think that the only one who ends up having expenses is the government, since the same students have to cover expenses that the government does not cover, it is a joint effort of both parties, despite having to increase taxes be the way to get money, it is for the good of someone who needs it, even if it is a minority.

Finally, a balance must be struck between all parties, to ensure that none is exploited, that students get ahead, and that citizens do not pay a lot of taxes.

  5. First intervation:
1)For poor people it's more difficult to apply for a good job, cause they couldn't pay for university education.
2)Free education, ensures that everybody can study in equal conditions.
3)Charge for the studies at an university. Free education can lead to inflation in taxes, its unfair to tax ordinary people,
4)the last paragraph discussion is fair for both sides of the coin, the agreement and the desagreement
5)on the other hand, further more, on balance.

    Second intervention:
I agree with the charge for university studies, but they should be a little more standardized so that the entire population, both poor and wealthy, can complete their studies, even though it is known that not everyone enters a public university, several processes must be passed in addition to passing the admission exam, in conclusion the charge is fine only its amount is incorrect or unffair for those who can't afford it.

What motivates me to continue studying is being able to be a better person and a better professional, in addition to making the best use of the resources they provide me, growing and developing my skills so that in the future I can better defend myself in society and help financially to my parents because without their help I would not have moved on.

    Second part
1)The free university education will have everyone with the same opportunities to study at the university level.
2)Vocational training will be more beneficial.
3)It creates more opportunities for poor people to do well.

    Third part
1)The poor have fewer opportunities when applying for jobs and often remain disadvantaged throughout their lives.
2)Some people maintain that it is unfair to tax ordinary working so that they can study.
3)Although the government gives money, students still have to pay other expenses.
4)They have fewer opportunities when they apply for a job.

    Second intervention:
I agree that education should be free for everyone, it is important to have the same opportunities to receive a good education no matter the economic situation of each person. It is essential to forge great professionals so that they can take the country forward with their knowledge and skills.

I do not agree that they say that a free university education will take a lot of money from the state, since somehow the students have to pay a small percentage to maintain their education.

  8. I disagree that university education is free, because it is a cost very high for the government and Costa Rica doesn´t have the posibility to make this possible. I consider that for now the system is fine, because the government and each university gives socioeconomic scholarships to students that really need it, this means that it does not deny the possibility of studying the poor or people who cannot pay and students who can afford college,do it. In the world, Costa Rica is one of the countries that invests the most in education.

  10. I want to emphasize that studying is not considered a privilege of the few at the present time, but is a common factor among the different social classes.

We know beforehand that we live in a society that is constantly changing and also requires more and more knowledge, so studying and training facilitates entry into the world of work and helps with daily sustenance.

I think that the government should help universities more because education and training is truly one of the most powerful instruments
to reduce poverty and inequality. Therefore, it lays the foundations for a sustainable economic increase that would benefit the country.

To finish, I think that the government should apply a model in which people are not affected by so many taxes, because this generates dissatisfaction of the citizens towards the state.

1-The reason why I study is to learn, because I really like to learn and investigate about everything, particularly about science, also I want to be a successful and useful person.
2-If you studied at a university you have more opportunities to have a good job than someone who don´t. I think, the free university create better opportunities to people who has less resources to study. Also, I think, if the university is free your opportunities will depend about your own talents and efforts.
3-If the university is free the cost for the government will increase so they have to collect more taxes and there are more expenses to students like food or lodging and in some cases this expenses are more expensive than the university cost.
    Second intervention
I think there is not really a big difference if the university is free, because it is more important your effort and talent. Even if you have money for all the expenses your opportunities depend on your effort and the expenses like lodging, transport or food are more expensive than the university. If you’re a good student the university system will give you help to complete your studies.

  16. • My motivation to continue studying, is to achieve my dreams and become independent. I would also love to help my family, especially my mother who has been working so hard so I can accomplish my dreams.
    • I agree that education should be completely free, there is a lot of people all over the world who can contribute with human growth in many ways. It will be so beneficious for our society, poor population rate could drop down drastically and there will be way more job opportunities. Also, when we talk about education in general, that includes sexual education, so people would learn more about taking care of themselves and create a possibility of reducing overpopulation.
    • I disagree with high costs of education, because a lot of private High Schools and Universities ask for unnecessary money, even in pandemic, there´s a lot of people studying in private institutions and they are still paying regular payment even when they are not using all the “benefits” that the institution offers. But there is not an affordable option to study because education in public institutions in most countries it´s terrible and not everyone can afford a private institution.
    • Last part of the essay talks about a balance in the situation
-However/furthermore/: used in the essay to make a comparison between paying or not paying for education.
-In addition: to add another idea to the main one

  20. Sentences that motivate to continue read
We study at a public university in which the state pays the vast majority of a university degree. What motivates us to continue reading is that we are part of the population that has benefits for studying, where they prepare us to be better professionals as people in the society where we live. Also, this situation makes me feel lucky to have the opportunity to study for free, because a scholarship covers my needs and credits.

    Sentences in favor
-Sometimes poor people can’t pay for their studies because they haven’t got resources to pay.
-Everybody hasn’t equal opportunities to study
-Free education gives more opportunities to poor people
    -Free education would generate equity
-Free education would bring progress and less poverty.

    Sentences against
    -Taxes will increase
-Private colleges will suffer enrollment declines and financial hardships.

    Fist intervention in group.
This topic attracts a lot of attention because currently all young people want to be professionals. Also, when the government does not pay for education, specifically at universities, many students cannot afford the costs of studying at university. As a result of this, they have fewer job opportunities. Free education would generate equity, but it would also generate many expenses for the government. On the other hand, free education would bring progress and less poverty.

I am in favor of universities supporting students in the economic field, so that they can improve in their professional and daily life. A big part of the population has economic problems and not all people have access to a good education, which is why it is necessary to encourage the good use of taxes in the country, as in the study, without falling into waste. Also, I am in favor of the entire population having the same possibilities of entering a university regardless of their origin or economic status. Costa Rica is fortunate to have the public education system which helps to have a population more prepared for an eventuality. As a result, by having more opportunities to study, the population is insensitive to having their degree and having a better quality of life as professionals.

The author argues a favor that free education does not exclude poor populations, it also allows universities to have qualified students and not only high economic students.
The author argues against the high price of having a free education, since it can raise taxes and is not fair to society.

Some people have the desire and the ability to study but they don´t have ways to pay it. I understand, free university education could be a huge economic problem for the government because maybe there are many people who need help to pay for their education.
That situation could be good for the country because we can see that like a investment and in the future Costa Rica will has more professionals. This helps to reduce the poverty, maybe that can help to improve the education and the international recognition.

I think that free university education is a great opportunity for young students who want to become professionals. In my case, I continue studying because I want to be a professional to make proud my family and to have a better life quality
The points in favor of education free are:
    - Poor people sometimes miss the chance to study, with free education included the university it won't happen and they will have more opportunities when they apply for jobs. Free university education will ensure that everybody has an equal chance to study at the university level
    - The universities will trap the ablest students and not the richest

    The points against are:
    - It cost a lot of money for the government
    - More taxes
    - More taxes to ordinary working people (with less money)

    Balanced way:
    - The advantages of providing free university education are more and better than the disadvantages. Because despite free education costs everybody more in taxes it creates a better system and in that way, the poor people have more opportunities

I agree with Jonathan Fonseca to disagree with the idea of free university education for all. Of course, it would be the ideal, but it's not possible in Costa Rica reality. There's more than 15% of the population that is poor and these people can't afford more taxes, they can barely survive. Furthermore, private universities create more competition and make education systems better.
However, Costa Rica invests a lot of money in education and the country's development model is lined with international demand. If these strategies give positive results in the future, and the poverty level becomes very low, free university education for everyone could possible, because people would have better jobs and the idea of more taxes would be possible.

I agree with the one who says that everybody should have an equal chance to study. But i think that the should give everybody the chance and if they whant to take, they could take it, also if they dont want to. So only thoose who wants to study are going to do it.
maybe even they should give the chance no matter the age os the persone.
I disagree at the part that says it is unfair for some people. No matter what is something that would help a lot of people and the conuntry!
I think we all have to participate to make it posible, because sometimes is not only the money... Also the family and other people. (Like when they put the children to work)
And i have seen it, i knew people that didn't study because of that.

Sentence that motivates you to continue reading:
“Some people argue that education should be free including university”

Points that argues in favor of free university education:
The arguments in favor is that the poor people sometimes miss the chance to study in university and this is a disadvantage when they are looking for a job. With free university would ensure that everybody has an equal chance to study in the university. With this kind of systems, the free university could attract the most able students and not the richest or the
    poorest.

Points that argues against free university education:
If the university education is free this will cost lot of money to the government and to cover this expenses they would raise taxation and it’s unfair to tax everyone. Also they question how useful is the university education as whole and the vocacional training will be more beneficial

Paragraph that argues in a balanced way:
They say that the advantage outweigh the disadvantage, while free education cost a little more in taxes it creates the fair system and more opportunities for poor people

I agree that education is free because many people do not have enough money to pay for a career and have to dedicate their lives to something they do not like. However, I would like there to be a methodology for people who do not take advantage because they do not take it seriously, these people do not have the possibility to continue studying and give it to someone else. It is important to give people the opportunity because they can be great scientists, doctors, teachers, lawyers or engineers and if they are not given the opportunity for the simple fact of not having money, it is not fair.
The government wastes a lot of money on silly events and extremely high wages. If this were more invested in education it could be free for everyone. It is also said that food waste can change hunger in the world, in addition to little change we can make great changes in the world.
