How to save our transportation system

What problems do we have in Costa Rica regarding the transportation system? How would you improve the transportation system of our country?
Work in pairs. Choose A or B.
If you are A. You are a citizen worried about the transportation system in Costa Rica:
Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper expaining your ideas. Begin with "Dear Editor". End it with: "Sincerly and write your name".
If you are B. You are the editor of a respectable newspaper of Costa Rica. Answer the letter you were asigned to. Start with:  "Dear and the name of the person you will answer to". End with "Sincerly and sign your name".

This is an examples of what a letter will look like. Each aspect is detailed more fully below the image.

    Dear Editor,
In the last few days I’ve been arriving lately to my work due to a terrible traffic congestion. I am really worried about this situation. I am actually getting up really early in the morning to avoid all these congestion, yet, this was not a solution. Also getting up even earlier is neither a solution. Also in the afternoon, when I get back to my home, I am facing again this terrible traffic jam again. This is leading up to a lot of wasted time and stress. People are starting to argue a lot in the streets. Walking is not a solution because the place where I work is far away from my home. Driving in those streets is dangerous, and accidents could occur at any moment. I’ve been considering other alternatives , such as the train, yet it is not a good alternative solution for me. The train station is really away from my house. It will require me to get up even earlier!
I thought a solution was to go to my work riding a bicycle. Use a bicycle as transportation instead of my car. This could be a good solution, because it will be an environmentally friendly alternative. Yet I notice that there is no place where you can ride a bicycle safety in the street. This could lead to serious traffic accidents and dead people. There are also no sidewalks where people could walk without being worried to be hit by a car. It is a complete mess! It requires an immediate solution!
I hope to get a reply with a solution really soon! This problem cannot continue this way! Driving has become a nightmare! I think that a complete new transporting system should be implemented. We are all suffering duet to his problem.
    Sincerely,
    Josué Arrieta Salas

    Dear Sr. Josue Arias
Sincerely, I wonder that you have a great time. The problem of transportation in Costa Rica is awful and in our company, we understand the point of your complaint. Our though was that traffic jams have been increasing for approximately ten years, so we made an research and it told us that the increase of cars in our streets and the uncultural management of driving its taking bill to all of us.
If you are in Cartago and you want to travel to the capital city in "the crazy" hours, (from 6am to 8am) for you and for all the citizens, it's going to be a great mission. That's because the Cartago's terminal of busses, Lumaca, is inefficient in schedules, the same happened by train. If you want to travel by car, the traffic jams are incredible and it's kind of dangerous to have problem with your car. Accidents have took off in Florencios del Castillo highway.
In the Costa Rican congress are projects that can be the solution of all of this inquiries and complains but they are in administrative proceeding so we need to be patient.
I'm certain that in the future, we will travel to our destinies with completely joy and without stress. The solutions are in the table, so we are just waiting that the congress signs the project and the new highway began as fast as lightning. That’s the best and the only solution that is in the table at the moment.

We appreciate your inquiries, kind regards

I would like to say that the solution is already being started to be worked, because this problem affects a big quantity of population, but I am afraid that this projects are waiting to be signed on the congress because they require administrative procedures and that means a lot of paperwork. So, patience and letters for the ones on the power are the only actions that I recommend you to do. And I am really sorry for not being able to solve your, and everyone's problem.

    Dear Editor,
I heard on the news that you are collecting the views of citizens about transportation in Costa Rica and how it can be improved. I would like that you know what I think, because I am aware I am not the only one who goes through bad times because of this.
This time, I want to talk about a specific problem. As you probably know, most of us have sought alternatives to get to work because the streets are saturated with cars and reckless drivers, and we found that train is the best option. In my case, I travel from Heredia to Cartago and this transport saves me several hours of travel every day.
However, it is sad to know that there are many interests involved that have weakened this service. In the past, the government decided to remove the trains, while developed countries saw this as a good transport. Luckily, today's governments have regained faith in this service, but there are still aspects to be improved. Missing drives, inadequate schedules and passenger overload are the main problems facing the train service in the country.
In this aspect, I have noticed that many people complain of these problems, but nobody submit formal complaints to the authorities. It is not enough to want better transportation, you also need to do something to get it. I truly believe that the train is a way to improve transportation in Costa Rica, but everyone should understand that the country needs to invest money in this.
Finally, I know that you as a newspaper, perhaps can not improve transportation problems, but can make others worry about it. So, I would like you awake interest in the population, because when citizens are concerned about the country, there is progress.

    Sincerely,
    Lucy Chaves

I think that your idea is great. A lot of transportation in the streets of Costa Rica don´t only saturated it. It make a lot of contamination. I heard that the goverment think to put bicycle roads on the streets but I think that the streets of Costa Rica are so close to make a bicycle road. It´s a good idea to solve this problems early, before having more traffic problems. I´m going to tell your idea to the goverment and have a good solution for the citizens soon. Thanks for your opinion and if you have other problem please write me. I like to help others.

We have so much means of transportation, the principal mean is the car, nowadays 13 million cars are produced in only when year and in only one country, Japan. The streets are very overload, the presidents and his team, think and develop new projects to prevent the chaos, but this chaos is imminent, we need reduce the cars, but using it in a correct form. In Costa Rica, we are very backward in terms of public constructions, the streets are the same in 70’s or 80’s, but too much cars. Waze, a company developed an application to help countries with biggest problems of traffic, include Costa Rica, San José in their plan. But the traffic polices say: “this application is bad, it prevent where are we (polices)”. But the other idea of Waze is help the citizens’ move in their countries fast and a short route. The accumulation of smoke in the air are produced by cars, but plains too, in only one day 93 000 flies around the world, the airplanes move much more people than cars but pollute too too too much (yes, three time much), but it is safer than cars and have a coordination in the air, a little errors produce a big crash in the air, but it happens approach once per month. Other mean of transportation is the train, is faster, is more conformable, is easier, but is too expansive, build a complex train called MANGLEV (magnetic levitation) use magnets to move. The train need a big inversion, if the inversion is short, happens the problems we have daily with the train of passengers in the route of Heredia – San José and San José – Cartago, all days crash, all days fail, all days cancel services, and they don’t explain with good reasons. For example in Costa Rica around 3 millions of people need move from their works and their homes or vice versa but the same streets 50 years.

    Dear Editor

I’m a citizen worried about the transportation in Costa Rica. I have to start saying that this letter is not only to talk about the congestion that every day a lot of people have to face when they go to their jobs and when they return to their homes.

I start talking about the treatment to the elderly. In many times I have seen bus drivers with a bad behavior to that people. They yell to them and in some times the bus driver don´t stop the bus when an old person is waiting it. Is important that everyone know this and take actions about it.

Other important point is the fact that every day we face with a lot traffic and in sometimes it makes impossible for me and for a lot of people to be on time for work or the university. Someone may can say: “Well, go to your job walking, then you make exercise too.” This isn´t a good argument because, imagine if the time for someone going to the her or his job takes forty minutes in bus, now how much time will it take if that person walk to the job?

I think this medium to let know about this things is the beginning of a change that will improve the transportation of this country, of course if a lot of people use this medium. Thanks

    Dear Sr. Mario Jiménez

First I want to thank you for writing in this section of our newspaper, it is very important to us to know your point of view.

It is noteworthy that for all Costa Ricans, traffic problems have increased, because the use of cars is very large and this causes a terrible traffic congestion. To solve this problem the government should intensify the creation of more roads or create policies that help reduce cars on them, an example of this is the use of the vehicle restriction in an appropriate manner. On the other hand we must be aware that every day as well as you mentioned is more difficult moving us to our workplace, therefore we have to use alternative routes or other means of transport such as the bicycle if they are appropriate distances or another option would be to take the bus early to avoid traffic congestion.

Finally your input about the treatment given to the elderly by bus drivers on public transport is very important for us. This is an aspect that has been intensifying every day, because some bus drivers can´t handle the stress of his work however I think this problem can be solved if the bus companies to invest a little more in training their staff to go eliminating this problem because the law protects seniors and has strong penalties that may hurt the company. Besides the elderly people deserve special treatment and it is very important to be respected at all times no matter how difficult is the situation where you are.

I appreciate so much your input in this issue that currently surrounds us, for this reason I will publish an article about it the next week, I hope that you enjoy it and it can help minimize the problems expressed in your letter.

    Dear Editor

I live in Guadalupe Cartago, and I work in Cinder, Heredia. I’m concerned about the time that takes to travel between my house and the place where I work. The number of cars that block the highways is huge. So much cars that I have ended driving for four-five hours to get home. The accidents and the traffic jam only make it worse. We are a lot of people that travel every day to the same place and yet we drive own on individual cars.

We should try to promote and implement new ways of collective traveling between Cartago, San Jose and Heredia. Especially in the time to check in and out of work, since the train isn’t enough. It is a one way train and we can’t run more of them simultaneously. Other problem derived from it, and seen very often is the temerity drivers that make dangerous moves to win a few minutes. Those are serious problems that need a solution is we are to save our transportation system.

    Dear Kevin Jimenez

I agree with you, our streets are taking a lot of cars, buses, motorcycles and now also bycicles. I know that you are very concerned as many other people that live in Cartago, Heredia and San Jose. The thruth is that the gobernment isn´t very concerned in this problem, and they have to be concerned.

One of the solution that I suggest is to do a metro like the one that has Panama, but this also it´s going to be a huge investment and I´m pretty sure that the goberment won´t be happy abour that. Another solution could be promote the use of motorcycles and bicyles but the problem here is that our streets doesn´t have a priority place for them, or maybe they have but the car drivers don´t respect their place.
The only solution that could be possible in my perspective is to do an investment in public transportation and promote this type of transportation. With this solution people could take the bus and maybe they are going to decrease the use of cars. In this way people can go from one place to another faster and the enviroment would appreciate this.

    Dear Editor,

Sincerely, I hope you are having a great day, I'm writing this letter for explain about the problem with the system buses in Cartago. Every day many people used the buses for transportation to houses or workplaces, but the service gets worse with the passage of time and there have not been improvements. I would like to say some problems.

For Example, Some buses of service do not comply with the laws right and in special the law number 7600, this law covers people with disabilities and benefits that they should have. We need resolve this problem as many people use the service and they have the same rights to use the service without problems. Moreover, the bus driver does not respect the people sometimes, he screams and is angry. In occasions, also they do not stop the bus and the people need to run to board the bus. he doesn’t respect the traffic signals, doesn’t stop in red light or stop signal and doesn’t give to step courtesy to walkers. The bus company and the client need to have friendly bus drivers for better service. Finally the cost of the service are not good, sometimes the cost of a bus that has travel less than 2 kilometers is more expensive than other bus that has travel more distance. Other problem with the buses and your bad service is that the buses are dirty and in occasion are broken.

I hope you understand to many people are using this service every day, we need to good conditions as we pay every day for this service and we expect improvements soon. Thanks for your attention and I hope your reply soon.

My name is Andrés Jiménez Quirós and im a citizen of San Jose. I travel between some of the most translated routes such as ¨Circunvalación¨, ¨Florencio del Castillo¨, some routes in San Pedro, among others most of my days. And i´m worried about the traffic jam that occur , and how the increment in the amount of cars are indicating that this situation will go from bad to worse.
I have a proposal to prevent the situation from getting worse and even could improve it if is well applied. This proposal consist in invest in other means of transport that do not travel on the street such as trains and metros. A lot of cities around the world use these means such as New York, London among others. Those means could be used to carry cargo and people and as a consequence the amount of buses and trucks could decrease. Some routes could be trace through the places where the most jobs are concentrated. Also it could be promoted with special fees for students and workers so the greater amount of people use this means rather than cars and buses.
Now days we have some intents of this idea such as the train between San Pedro and Heredia and the one between Cartago en San Jose. They are usefull but not in a magnitude that can resolve the problems that the traffic system has. So if we invesitgate in what can be done in the current trains and what other means could be develop in the future hopefully as consequence we could improve the way we travel in Costa Rica.
Thanks for receiving my opinion and I hope it could be posted in the magazine so more people could be aware of this proposal.

    Dear editor,
As a citizen of San Ramon, I've been suffering with the traffic jams for years. It's not a secret that the infrastructure vial in Costa Rica is a mess, especially the road that goes from San Jose to San Ramon. This route is used by the citizens of Heredia, Alajuela, Grecia, Naranjo, Palmares and San Ramon, just imagine the amount of people and cars that use this "highway". The Traffic gets worst there between 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and also between 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; there are traffic jams in Grecia, in La Recta de Los Mangos, in the Airport, in Real Cariari Mall, in La Platina and in La Uruca.

The people, including me, waste their time in traffic jams all the days. For example, I spend two hours traveling to work when I'm supposed to last just one hour, so it means that I spend four a day sitting in a vehicle. This waste and excess of time have negative consequences in people health: stress, bad mood and fatigue are just some of them.

So I've been thinking about possible solutions to this problem and I've encountered with a lot of negative facts. For instance, I've trying to leave my home earlier but, by the time I'm near the airport the traffic jam is already there. Also, there isn't a train and bicycles aren't viable. Even, renting an apartment near San Jose isn't a solution for all, some people may not have the money to do it or may have a reason to get back (the couple and children). Traveling by bus isn't a solution if just few people stops using the car and starts using this way of transportation. The "Carrying" practice (when a group of people use one car to travel) will solve the problem but, the people from the same town who work in the same area doesn't know each other and nobody takes the initiative.

Since traffic jams aren't exclusive in this area of Costa Rica, if it is possible, I want to ask you to make an article about this problem. Maybe you can propose more solutions and I'm sure a lot of people will read it, your web page it's pretty popular in the social networks. This way people may get information and may start acting to the benefit of all.

    José David León García

    Dear Editor,
I want to take a few minutes of your time to give an opinion about the transportation system, the reason why I want to let you know this, is because since I was using the system, I am getting affected about the points the I will explain.
The first problem is that the bus is to slow, in a very short distance it takes like 40 mins, if you compare this time with the time that you spend going in car, the difference is enormous, and in car you just spend 10 minutes. I can understand perfectly that in this meaning of transportation it is necessary to pick up people from everywhere, but I think that the problem is the distance between each bus stop. I think that 1km is an acceptable distance, in that way people jus will have to walk 500mts to look for the longest bus stop and I know that the time will be shortened, but nowadays the distance is just of 100mts between some bus stops.
I am just going to give you another opinion. The public transportation system is collapsed, in my case I used to go from San Rafael to the college in Cartago, and it is very tired not to have a sit in most of the busses and trains that I take. You should have to see that there is a lot of people needing the system and the number of busses and trains are not enough.
I want to thank you for the time that you take to attend my complaint, and I hope that you can take some actions in the case.

I find unacceptable the situation that you and other people of your town go through every day when take the bus to go to School or maybe to go to work, because I think being in this situation must be very weary and stressful. I will start a research to find the best solution for you and and the other users.
Thank you for taking time to tell us this situation, because in this way we can help solve important problems like these.

    Dear Editor,
My name is Jean Carlo Mata and I want to talk to you about a lot of problems presents in transportation system in Costa Rica. As a user of public transportation I´m worried because this is a daily problem that many people face in their lives.
First I want to start with the lack of traffic officers on routes where traffic jams are a daily problem. This “lack” makes the problem of traffic jams worst, also the great numbers of cars circulating in our roads and drivers who like to make imprudence. But instead of complaining about this problem I would like to propose a solution to reduce the traffic jams. First our government needs to increase the presence of police traffic on the main roads where traffic jams are enormous. Second we need to implement a kind of vehicle restriction on these roads and then the amount of cars would be lower and finally I propose a plan based on high fines to raise awareness on reckless drivers.
And my second point is about my specific case, I´m student and I must travel from San Jose to Cartago ant the traffic jams along this route are incredible. The worst situation is found in “San Pedro” where the amount of cars is terrible and I would like that you help me to raise awareness not only in people who use this route but also in people who use routes where traffic jams are very common, putting into practice some of solutions mentioned above. Also exists other ways to avoid traffic problem, for example the train and buses. If more people use this type of transportation, the most of problems caused by traffic jams could be eliminated and then many people will be able to arrive early to their jobs, study places or any kind of meeting.
Thank you so much for listening my opinion and I hope it can reach to many media and save our transportation system.

    Sincerely,
    Jean Carlo Mata Serrano

I want you can help me, on time the roads are very crowded at all time. The people last more time to go to your destined. I need get up very early to get a bus and arrive to my job, but the time of the travel isn´t the problem.
The main problem is the numbers of buses are few and as all people need get to the jobs; all people get on the bus. The transport goes full and sometimes the bus driver can´t look the way. This situation does that the bus last in the tour. If the bus goes slow the others cars also go slow.
Each bus last much time to the people gets in and that they gets accommodate into the bus. If the Transportation Company add more buses, the flow of cars on the roads will be better.
Near to my neighborhood the illegal taxi offer service but they charge much money and they wait to the fields of the cars are filled. When the driver of the clandestine service goes, he clogs on the street and the bus can´t go out. They aren´t one option to my.

Please if you can do some to solve this problem I would appreciate.

    Dear Mr.Quiros,

I understand your point of view of the situation and may I say that I comprehend this type of problems, because I use as well the public transportation every day and I am aware of similar circumstances. But I need more specific information to make an article about it.

I see that one of your concern is the amount of buses is not great and the service is really slow, I would like to know of which buses are you talking about, the destination of those and if it is possible to have the company name that owns them; Besides that you mention traffic jam on some of roads, can you be more specific and tell the name of the road or any point of reference that I could use then at the end you indicate that some illegal taxis where around your neighborhood, as I said before I would like to know where is those people park at or where they normally stay at.

Nonetheless you need to keep in mind that increasing the number of bus isn’t going to fix the actual problem, there are other factor involved on this situation like the quality of the roads, the size of roads, the amount of other types of vehicles that also pass by and the education of the people about transportation in the country, therefore I am going to try make the article and include your complains supported with evidence in addition I will talk to about the other factor involved to improve the quality of transportation in Costa Rica; if you decide to continue with this contact me and we talk more deeply of the information I need to make this possible.
    Thank you for your time.

Dear Jean Carlo, I can evidence across your experience that you suffer a lot with the traffic jams everyday as a big costaricans quantity that need to move big distances to realize their jobs, their studies, find a new work opportunity, anyway, a lot of important things, but time is stolen in loudly and polluted jams with an exponential car grown that unfortunately affects all of us too much every day. I agree with your solutions, we need to free the most transited routes in the country per time, be stronger with the car restriction, respect all the drivers in case you are who drive the car, because in this situations we just can be patient, and wait, we can take our car and pass over the others, we need to be responsible and try to defeat the problems together, in other case it will be a nightmare and also can occur accidents by negligence and a bad way to act in the streets, busses, big trucks and cars must apply smog filters in their escapes because they´re a massive air polluter and we need to make the change now.
Another good advice is to share the cars with some friends, and rotate the order, fulling the tank in a collective way and taking advantage to the car capacities, retiring some cars of the way and passing a good time in company.
Busses and trains must enable more units to comply with the people fee that travel every day, guarantying a comfortably space and a diverse schedule to the passengers.
In a future a different combustible fonts must be another idea to change this situation and make our routes, routines and environment healthier than today to affront it and survive.
Finally I can express by personal experience that I use the bike every day from home to university because I live in Cartago and times nearby 7:30 am are a disaster in TEC main entrance, product of the before jams, it means that this solutions will be developed in a chain mode, if we fix the main jams, all the posterior little problems and jams will be lighter or a hundred percent reduce.
I hope we can make the change, start today, start by yourself and spread to the rest of the people.

    Dear Editor,

Every day all people that work in the GAM live an odyssey to arrive to their jobs. It is a cause from the bad public administration that we have. The institutions in charge of the transportation system like the MOPT and CONAVI don´t provide solutions to improve our transportation system.

Going from Tres Rios to San José takes a least one hour and a half in rush hour, but on weekends or holydays just 30 minutes, one hour of delay reflects that our roads and highways were not prepared to the future and we didn’t do anything in the past to avoid this situation.

However, we can do something now, to avoid a worst scenery in the next years. Everybody have to take part. How? It is a duty to pay all our taxes, the government needs our contributions to improve the transportation system, but is also a duty for the government to spend in a good way all the taxes.

Our working class suffers every day, I hope that in a short time we will find a solution to this worrying problem.

    Dear Isais,

We are a country in develope and it´s true the problem of the odyssey of our daily transportation issue.

First of alll we should make aware of the waste and pollution we generate by driving one single car for one single person. We as a nation should solve this problem because it is not only the pollution problem but the develope as a country. Transportation and how easy we communicate with our destiny marks the difference between how fast we growth and get closer to a first world country. Communication its going faster and faster in digital life as in real life and new generation demand a faster interchange of people, data and actually everything you can think about.

I think the MOPT and CONAVI haven´t invest very well the money for better vial solutions. We should start looking for better trains that pollute less, better services, new routes, new engineering supplying better results and growing from a country. Because we are living in country with big potential and we are also staying beind at least 10 years in comparisson with the other places.

We need a change to create a solution to the pollution we are generating and the bad transit the slower our improvement.

As a taxpaying citizen of Cartago, I am extremely displeased with the level of service offered by our public buses. I understand that transportation infrastructure is complex, but the system by which our city organizes the buses needs to be changed drastically.

I frequently use public transportation to get around Cartago as well as during my daily commute to and from work. We have several bus lines that are intended to provide convenient access to locations around town. This would be effective if the buses ran on a dependable schedule. In the past week, I have experienced six late buses on my commute and one that did not arrive at all.

I hope that you will take my complaint into consideration. Many people suffer under the deterioration of public transportation in Cartago, and while many of them are as inconvenienced as I am, few will take the time to notify you.

I would greatly appreciate hearing your plans for improving the bus system. Thank you very much for your time.

For us as publishers of the newspaper Costa Rica Today, it is important input from the public on issues of interest to the community. Therefore we decided to publish his letter our opinion section the day Friday, January 8 this year. Also we will follow up the issue as they have previously been complaints about the route.
For compliance we can give you a preview of the data collected in an investigation on the case last December; currently it has established a plan to expand the route but has been raised to a project similar to that of San Sebastian, which is being studied by the MOPT and CONAVI, but do not have anything for sure until mid-year round. Moreover many road users have proposed an alternate route creation to get from Zapote to Cartago without much inconvenience to traffic.

I am writing this letter very concerned about the current situation of the public transport system in my country, since every day we see on television and newspapers multiple problematic topic. First, the increase in ticket prices is much, is very expensive, every year more and the poor people are most affected, second dam in the streets increasingly are larger, slower and much time is wasted. After some additional problems this issue is the constant crime to bus drivers. Another problem I have noticed is the poor treatment of some bus drivers to the elderly, and in some cases have seen the bus does not stop to transport elderly. And finally a problem are people who sell things or ask for alms, as it is very dangerous for them to travel standing because they can suffer an accident.

I look forward to your prompt response.

I wrote this letter in order to raise people´s awareness about the importance of having a good public transportation system. Recently I rode the train from Cartago to San Jose after my soccer practice at Instituto Tecnologico Costarricence and it was an awful experience. I feel the railway system is pretty inefficient and should not have to go through the city’s main roads, this way there would be fewer accidents. Also the train had to go backwards on a crossroad to let another train through and I could not arrive to my appointment on time.
I hope that you take my observations into consideration, since I am only trying to improve the quality of the public transportation service being a concerned citizen.

The transport system is seriously threatened due to a malfunction of all its structures. The bus system is old and does not meet schedules, besides the overcrowding that exists every day. Needless to say that the rail system and its trains are ambiguous and obsolete, for the lack of an extended schedule. Taxis are like mafia, they take advantage of the customers.

Ordinary people can only hold on and wait or go in debt by buying a car, and have in anyway congested and pathetic road infrastructure. Please help me to raise awareness, and if possible, a solution to this problem.

    Greetings

Dear Editor, Costa Rica is a country with many social problems which occupy attention, and others occupying much attention.
In the field of transport in the country to generate much controversy since being a system we all use, people seek the best possible service. Today I would like to mention one problem in the transportation, the system circulation of many cities of the country are problematic from a single transit route through which all the same transport must circulate simultaneously. Wanting to reach a hard place hours if it is time to go to work. Although more and more vehicles, the public system shares the same routes and the same path without alternative paths for different types of transport.
The country has a circulation problem in many major cities, these problems lead to transit stops and stop the country. Dear Esteban
We know about the problems with the transportation in Costa Rica and also in Tejar and San Rafael de Oreamuno. First I want to thank you because of this letter; we need people like you who get care about the community and help us with solutions. You have to know that we are working to improve the situation. For example, preparing traffics and adding more. We are going to consider your advice about to improve the public transport and I promise that the road conditions will improve. Thanks for your help.

  43. Public Transportation system in Costa Rica

    Dear editor,
There are many problems about the transportation in Costa Rica, and we are worried about this conditions, for example many roads are small and when there are many cars the jams appears and spend a lot of time to clear it, also principally in the capital there are many bus stops and spaces are reduced on roads, another problem is the bad conditions, most are damaged and this causes accidents and mechanic problems with the cars. We need more traffic officers controlling the jams and better roads. Another solution is to improve the public transport like buses and trains, thereby reduce the jams. If you can give us other solutions we would be very grateful.

    Sincerely,
    Esteban Montenegro
