• Andrea "Andy": She is a recent graduate of the University and aspiring journalist who despite having no knowledge of what is fashion, is hired as a personal assistant to Miranda.A young woman and honest person.
• Emily Charlton: main assistant of Miranda, who is staying on the top of his job. Tolerates rudeness and insults of his boss to go to fashion week in Paris.

• Nate: Andrea's boyfriend, a chef of a restaurant in Manhattan that ends with her because Andrea has changed a woman ruled by her boss and gives more importance to his work on the relationship.
7. What did you learn from this movie?
With this film I learned that you should always be yourself and not change or be completely different from anything or anyone else.
You only change to be a better person, but people who have always been with you move away this means that you're wrong.
I´m agree with you is very important to be yourself in all the moments and don´t change with the others. I think that is very important to take care of people that are important in our life because they always be there for us. I recommend you have a balance of work and the personal life, because both are very important to be a happy and whole person.

• She is and authoritarian leader, and treats her subordinates in a manner that borders on emotional and psychological abuse.
• Her personality is very cold and calculating.
• She is a woman with a lot of experience.
Opinion:
In my opinion this movie is a good example of the real life, because in some cases we will have bad chiefs and problems we face and succeed. I believe that is very important to fight for what you really want and wish, and to achieve this we must work hard and persevere as seen in the movie. To attain that thing that we want will have to make sacrifices and changes in our way of seeing and doing things, but all the effort is worth it in the long time.
On the other hand is important to care for the people that you really love because are our support in all the moments and don´t change our personality and values for the ambition to be a famous or rich person, are things such as family love that are more important than the fame and money, this things don’t buy the real happiness we need a balance in our life.
I agree with your opinion. Every dream that you want requires effort to be achieved and in the end it's going to be rewarded.
EliminarAnd as I said in my personal opinion, no one should change your personality by anything or anyone. Only if it is for good, we should all be authentic and not change for social or economic interests.

1. In your opinion this movie is appropriate for Business manager students because.
ResponderEliminarI consider it very important, because as future leaders and entrepreneurs gives us a vision that many times while on the career ladder people who in turn become managers, they become more arrogant.
Also it is not valued staff with which it is told in the company, and are thought to be mere employees, the film reveals that every member is valued in the organization and we give it the importance it deserves and that when they do things well should be thanked for the work done
6 . How would you change the ending of the movie?
The change would make is that Miranda more conscious and grateful to Andy's which left many things to please Miranda, despite the end Miranda thinks that Andy is like her and is willing to do anything to become famous is back and climb. I wish that the two end up working together, as did good team, but Miranda had changed his mind.

3. Why do you think the woman is the way she is? Is her behavior ethical?
ResponderEliminarI think she is like that way because for she the most important thing is the job,and she is obsess with it.Also,Miranda Priestly leaves her personal life in the second place putting her job at first, because she wants to be the best in the Fashion Industry.
For me she isn´t too much ethical because she treats all the people surround her very bad and she always criticize the others work.
8. What made this woman to be so successful?
Miranda Priestley is successful because she worked a lot and is very demanding.Maybe in her youth she was treated in the same way likes she treats her asistants, a hard treatment for being in a future women that reach what they want.
I agree with your opinion. She tries to get what you want and maintain its position in the way it is. Your goal is to be successful, and the rest goes to a lower level.

ResponderEliminarWhy do you think the woman is the way she is? Is her behavior ethical?
What made this woman to be so successful?
The woman makes a change in his life, in several respects starting with its looks, he goes from being a simple woman an elegant woman, doing his best work being efficient and effective woman in her work to achieve your liking chief; Unfortunately the change that she made changes with friends, your partner and see the world differently.
Miranda Priestley acts thus positioned to keep the magazine, the only thing that matters is being a successful woman in professional leaving his family.
From the ethical point of view, we can see that both women do not act correctly.
Because the woman falls in a consumer world where ignores important values, and just focus on professional growth. She will do anything to maintain its position.
Hi Ivannia, I agree with you, The only important thing from Miranda Priestly is to keep the magazine but she is an amazing hard-working and very dedicated with her work. I think the only bad thing from Miranda is the relationship with her secretaries.
EliminarDear Ivannia, here are some observations:
EliminarRemember the difference between "his" and "her" "she" and "he"
If you are talking about a woman, you have to say "her partner", not "your partner"
She will do anything to maintain its position. (She will do anything to maintain her position)
How would you make a twist (turn) on this movie?
ResponderEliminarI make a twist where the boss changes her attitude, as the secretary made every effort to please their wishes however difficult they were and did her job well. Miranda, could change a bit at the end and create a peaceful atmosphere in the office, because all employees were scared and avoided contact with her. And everyone knows that in a business environment is an essential part to do the job effectively.
Do you think the woman’s behavior would be acceptable in a society like C. R. Explain.
Nowadays, people do not accept such attitude, have a demanding boss who transmits fear, among others, prevents the worker to have a social life is practically a boss´s slave. In addition, any person would feel comfortable working with a boss like Miranda Priestley. Leaders must create a good atmosphere with employees, should not instill fear. Also, any employee would support this attitude.
The heads may require a level of effort and dedication to the job, but can not exceed the limits.
I agree with the way you think in both question Kenia, Miranda should change in different aspects in order to be more kind with people around her.
EliminarAbout the second question, I think it is a very hard work being the assistant of a person like Miranda because as you said she transmits fear and this is not a good characteristic for an excellent leader, not everybody can support her attitude.

ResponderEliminarHow would you make a twist (turn) on this movie?
In this case, a turn in the movie would that the devil woman Miranda Priestly changes the way she thinks about life, because the world does not revolve around her. What would happen if instead of a woman hired a man? Maybe with the pass of the time and after got divorce, she falls in love with her employee; it will change the sense of the movie, a romance will appear and her attitude will be different too .
Do you think the woman’s behavior would be acceptable in a society like Costa Rica?
I am completely sure that this women´s behavior would not be acceptable in our country; in Costa Rica most of the people are kind and so friendly. When a person is hired in a company coworkers usually try to help in difficult task. Costa Rican people are very nice not like the devil woman Miranda Priestly.
Hi, Noelia!
EliminarI agree with your opinion, bosses should not believe that employees belong to them. Moreover, the film could make a twist causing that Miranda to be more sensitive to its employees.
On the second question, the Costa Ricans are very friendly and that behavior would create a shock in society. Any employee can accept her attitude.

EliminarWho is your favorite character and why. You may choose more than one.
ResponderEliminarWell, my favorite characters are the ones that are performed by the actresses Anne Hathaway as Andrea and Meryl Streep as Miranda Presly.
In general, I think both are great actresses in every single movie they do. They always embody their role perfectly and manage to transmit all the different features of each character they represent. For example, Meryl manages to convey the fear, the pride, the elegance, and the sophistication that represents Miranda Presley´s character. Then, Anne shows two different types of women and at the end she manages to get the best of both to begin a new part of her life.
Summarize the movie.
The Devil Wears Prada is a film that tells the story about a young woman named Andrea, who is looking for a job and decides to take a chance as Miranda Presley’s assistant, the managing editor of a major fashion magazine, Runway.
Andrea is a young writer; a simple lady who doesn’t care about appearances. She needs to work on Runway in order to have a good reference, get contacts and work in a newspaper or major publisher in New York.
When she finally gets an interview with Miranda, everyone laughed at her because of the way she was dressed, and, for those who work in Runway, she didn’t fit in because it was a place where appearance was apparently the most important thing. But finally, she was surprised when she noticed that she was accepted as Miranda’s assistant.
The rhythm of work in Runway was very demanding. At first, Andrea didn´t seem to fit in, but thanks to her efforts and with some support from Nigel (one of the fashion contributors of the magazine), she overcame some difficult tests and and whims of her ruthless boss and she slowly gained Miranda’s trust. The disadvantage for Andrea was that her work was damaging her personal life and her relationships with her friends and with Nate, her boyfriend.
Runway annually attended the fashion week in Paris and was the most important moment for the magazine. Only one of the Miranda’s assistants could travel with her to Paris, and Andrea thought it was going to be her co-worker Emily, but Miranda decided it would be Andrea instead. That trip meant a lot to Andrea because it was there where she realized that her life was out of control, that she didn’t really belong to that cold and superficial world, and that she could still be in time to recover her relationship with Nate and also her professional goals.
At the end Andrea quit the job at the magazine and return from Paris to look for a new job. She was hired at an important newspaper company because of Miranda’s reference, who said Andrea was one of the worst disappointments in her life, but the person who wouldn’t hire her should be completely crazy. This means that even Miranda learned something from Andrea with whom she admitted having many things in common and probably admired her determination to follow her dreams out off Runway.
Hi!
EliminarAbsolutely! Meryl Streep is so amazing. She is so beautiful and elegant.
She looks so powerful and intimidating, but still be great. :D
if the actress is amazing, in each of his papal it is very good. In this particular perfectly represents a strong woman but in the end this one or at least that's what lets us see at the scene of divorce, which tells Andrea that people tell who is married to his work another failed marriage.
EliminarExc. Fabiola.
EliminarCongrats!!!
Very good Fabián!!
EliminarWho are my favorites characters and why.
ResponderEliminarDefinitely I have two Favorite characters, Miranda Priestly and Nigel.
Miranda maybe is a little bit rude, cocky even a really bad person, but what I like about her is the passion in her work, the worry about every minimum detail. She really loves what she does and that is fascinating. Also I like the way she worry for her twins. Miranda could move heaven and land (or ordering Andy to do it xD) for this little girls.
And then is Nigel, smart, glamorous and painfully honest. He is so talent and very efficient. Maybe he could shine on his own if he decides to walk away from Miranda.
In his own way, he worry by Andy and I think that he get to appreciate him. Nigel is that kind of person that eat, breathe and life for his passion and that’s really hard to find and it’s something beautiful to see.
Summarize the movie.
Well, the movie start with Andrea “Andy” Sachs, a common and anti-fashion girl, that wants be a great journalist, but she needs a work and for some reason it’s selected to work in The Runaway Magazine, like the second personal assistant of Miranda Priestly, a life legend of the fashion business and the editor director of the magazine. At first Andy doesn’t care anything about the fashion; she only wants stay one year for get a good reference and after that, work like a real journalist, but she decide be a little bit more “fashionable” with the help of Nigel, for be accepted for Miranda and give a good impression. Andy starts to be focus only in his work, forgetting his boyfriend, family and friends. She has an attraction by Christian Thompson, an editor and journalist that she admires from the university. They have a romance when Andy go to Paris with Miranda and in that trip Andy quit to his job, after Miranda betray Nigel, because Andy understand that she will ruin his life if she continue been the assistant of Miranda. After that, Andy gets a job in a newspaper like journalist thanks to the recommend of Miranda.
although it is considered a bad woman, just trying to do their job in the best way, because it is what he loves. Give your best effort into it
EliminarHi Melanny! Well, I might disagree a little with your point of view about Miranda. I think that yes, she demonstrates a lot of passion at her work and she absolutely loves what she does, but I think it doesn´t give her the right to treat people the way she does. In the real world, if you are the boss, you will need to have communication and leadership skills, which includes a good treat to your employees in order to give them some motivation to work. Even so, I totally agree with the fact that she obvioulsy exposes her passion at her work.
EliminarOnce again. Congrats, Fabiola. EXc!!!!

Not only is a successful woman that works continuously to being, but also decided to put aside things that can be regarded as important for a woman, with such of successful professional.
10. Summarize the movie.
Basically the film speaks to spend on whatever it takes to achieve success if this is a good thing or not? If it is correct to leave my family, rest or even friends for being a successful personal and professional. There are two classes of people, those who seek the success at the expense of those who will be and which is not.
