1. Oprah's speech
Oprah is a good person because she has helped many people to improve their quality of life.
Oprah worked in her show for 25 years, she got up every day at 530am, and she read a book that was called “seed of the soul” where she learned about authentic power, that can never be taken from you. Not like fame, or fortune, or looks. True power comes when your personality serves the purpose of what you came to the work to do. When your personality comes to serve the reason why you came into the world.
Back then, she was building a house because she wanted to have a nice Christmas, but the house wasn’t finished on time. So, she started to think what the next best possible Christmas would be; she knew her best one was when nuns showed to her house with food and toys when she was little, and really poor, because somebody cared that they exited.
Then she went to South Africa, and build a school for young girls to learn their purpose in life, and Nelson Mandela inspired her to build it, to teach girls to overcome poverty through the power of education. 5 years later women are graduating to go to Stanford university and Colorado College. People and celebs have the same power, which is giving what’s been given to you, to use yourself and everything that you’ve been given to give.
Mya Angel “you have no idea what your legacy is, your legacy is every life you have touched, every person you have met, people who have watched the show; your legacy is everyone who gained a voice because of your show.”
One woman who graduated and is going to school in Colorado wrote her a letter saying:
“My opinion was heard, and I was not afraid to tell my story in a group of men, without fear that if it was disagreed upon, it was because the quality of my plan, not because I’m a girl. Being safe being me without being afraid of what other people think of me is power. I’m learning, making mistakes, questioning, and growing and filled with gratitude and have continued to be favored by God.”
In summary, she is a woman who has an amazing power to touch the lives of others and make them happy.
2. Women allowed in Vasaloppet? - History Quiz #5
Vasaloppet is an annual long distance cross-country ski race held on the first Sunday of March. The 90 km course starts in the village of Sälen and ends in the town of Mora in northwestern Dalarna, Sweden. It is the oldest cross-country ski race in the world, as well as the one with the highest number of participants.
Through the years following the first race in 1922, there were many heated debates about women's participation. A majority of officials, mostly male, within sports organizations as well as in society in general, were opposed to women in the race. This led to women being banned from the race from 1924 until 1980. The ban was introduced because it was considered bad for women's health to participate in such a competition. The ban was criticized, especially after 1960. Some defended the ban saying that allowing women would diminish the race's reputation as a tough challenge. Several women did nevertheless participate during the ban, disguised as men.
Currently women can participate in the race and the winners in Vasaloppet have received awards since 1997. Before that, in 1922-23 and 1981-96, women can´t receive prizes.

1. Oprah's video:
Oprah begins with a speech, says that she read a book in 1989, from a call Gary Zhukov, which he explained the true power of one, that was not the fame, the money, power, but rather it is when the personality of one manages to touch his soul. From there Ophra begins to say that his life changed for something new, during his speech he mentions that the year 2002 was building his house, but that it was not over and Christmas was coming, he wanted to have a nice Christmas and it was when he remembered his best Christmas, which was when he was 12 years old and his mother told him that they were not going to have Christmas, that when he went to school he would not be able to say that Santa Claus brought him, because there was not, but at night very late Nuns came with food and gifts, it was great, she said, that someone remembered us on this date, that she gave them things, how was that possible? I could not explain it, after that already great I wanted to do the same and went to Africa to various villages to give food, toys and asked her why not something bigger and she answered "One day they would not remember that they had something new, that they premiered, if not that someone reminded them of them ". That's what I want, to see this power of one, the power to touch someone to change their life, not from the money but from the inside, is what should be sought. Later she would meet with Nelson Mandela, who more in Africa, after several days decided to make a school, and today has had many benefits and commented that one of the girls is now as a senior at Stanford, is an achievement, insisted on being able to play someone with your soul to change our life through them.

Part I. Oprah’s Tearful Speech at Power of Women
Initially, the video Oprah talks about empowerment, she says that power comes from the soul, so the situations we face will make our lives more powerful. In addition, she tells part of her story and what motivated her to do charitable works, she explains that the power and energy of the soul are what motivate you to serve others and make the world a better place.
Also, through this video it is shown that it does not matter who you are but who you decide to be, because even though she had difficult moments in her life, she took them as motivation to do better things for others. Oprah tells us how to spend 10 days with Nelson Mandela, one day they talked about what was happening in the world, and among all, the most important was the power of education to overcome poverty.
As thanks to the trial and error, I understand that the way to change the way a girl sees herself, involved time and a change of environment, the way of parenting. So it was necessary a school that surrounded her with beauty, made for leaders and able to break the cycle of poverty; but the most important thing in life is to get to share with someone else, because we are all equal, and the only difference between a celebrity is how many people know your name.
The convention, empowerment and decision making of Oprah. The best way to learn. The best way to learn. That they can help other people as she could achieve.
We proceeded to perform the exercise with the three Oprah knows the difference between being a celebrity and being famous, she has her feet on the ground; Understand and understand people and education for their personal use, character, among other aspects for the better.
To finish, comment on what better and greater reward you have left, to know, how you have managed to impact people as Maya did, the power to build the school from scratch with the person who had your mentor was the best lived experience ; this is why the great reward is that God moved and is able to literally touch the lives of other people

When she was building a home in Santa Barbara excited for have it done, she thinks about the dream Christmas and starts remember about her best Christmas; when she was 12 years old her mother told her about not having Christmas that year and she need’s to face the reality, she though about what to tell to everybody in the school the next day and then in that night some nuns brought some gift for her and his brothers and she got overwhelmed in that moment not because the toys but the fact of someone remembered and care about them. She creates a school surrounded by beauty and a school who create leaders people than can excel beyond anybody’s dreams, 5 years later that’s what happens right now.
The video talks about power of women, actually Oprah by herself is an example of that, because she built her reign based in effort and struggle, so, for her could be easy build a school, but not everyone have that chance, this is why she explain that a legacy is not the material things made it, a legacy is the way how you can touch the other’s life, so she encourages all the women to be free and independent and pursuit her happiness. Another good example of that speech is the case of one of those girls who right now is studying in Stanford, she as Oprah could made her dreams come true.

PART 1. Video with oprah winfrey
Introduction
In the video, Oprah Winfrey talks to people about what real power means. Many people think that being powerful is having a lot of authority and that many people must obey, others think that having power is being famous, having a lot of money, or having a beautiful appearance, they consider that power is superiority over others.
However, Oprah mentions that she once read what real and authentic power means, and is the one that can never be eliminated, that is, when her personality comes to serve the energy of her soul, when you are able to align what are you really and you become what you came into the world.
The true power of a person is to use what has been given to serve others, to leave a legacy that influences and that drives change.
Development
In the video the main theme is personality based on the energy of the soul, mentions through it that he was just building his house but it was not finished, a Christmas was coming full of illusions which had expectations that were not met, however, he gladdened the moment through past memories.
Years later he creates a project where what is desired is to change the trajectory of young people, helping them to emerge and fulfilling their purposes. The true reason of life comes from the heart, no matter how fantastic you are or how great people are created, each human being is magnified by the fact of sharing, of giving without waiting, when you share what you have, analyzing how many lives You are able to impact positively.
We must look beyond what we are now and deliver what has really been given to us as a gift, to serve and improve this world by making a change in the hearts and minds of each of the people around us.
Conclusion
In summary, everyone have a story to tell to the world about themselves, and actions to do to demonstrate their real purpose of their lives.
Nobody have the right to judge to someone only for the things that we can see with the eyes. It is necessary to try to be more opened with the differences of others, to use that differences to create great things together.
Like Oprah mentioned in her speech, the people always remember when someone shows interest in them. So, let's use the power to do good no matter whom, because the change begins with ourselves.
PART 2. Attribute exercise
EliminarQuestions
Is there anyone who entirely lives up to these expectations?
In society, women consider that the ideal man is one who has a muscular body, who is tall, faithful, who likes children, chivalrous, who has perfect teeth, clear eyes, etc.
In the case of men, the perfect woman is considered to be one who has a flat abdomen, buttocks and large breasts, who is intelligent, independent.
But no doubt nobody is up to being an ideal man or woman, we all have defects and virtues, that is what differences us and makes us unique. We can not demand or wait for perfection because nobody is.
How can the words mentioned be related to power?
It may be related to the fact that, in the case of men, they consider that they have the power automatically. But this is not the case because being a man does not give him the right to believe that he has the power to do what he wants and to treat others badly, because as Oprah said, power is available to anyone who wants to change sad things for something best.
What are the consequences of these expectations?
The main consequence of expectations is disappointment, because wanting to have someone like that we lose sight of what really matters and at times we may be left alone.
What happens to those who go against the norms of, for example, gender? What norms are allowed or not allowed to be broken, and by whom?
There are many situations related to gender equality, however today this is taking a bigger boom, it is common to see a man and a woman in the same position, although there is always a difference of functions and demand is something that at least is coming implementing and is a means to increase the economy of a country.
Those who are against must really be adopting a higher level of consciousness, there is an established law of gender equity, no one should have the right to break something that is already mandatory, however both men and women are the ones who incur in this fracture of the law.
What “spheres” should men and women exist in according to these lists?
They should exist both in the private sphere and in the public domain.
Are there expectations of different men and different women to exist in different “spheres”?
Well, it could be said that the stereotypes that people have created and the society has accepted like normals, are the spheres, but not necessarily physical, but mentals. However, depending of part of the world that you are in, you will be judged with respect to how you should be, based on those expectations.
How can the issues raised in the brain storming session be connected to the gender policy objectives?
The brainstorming allow to identify the main expectations that the society has about the women and men, that those can considered like problems for the reason that nobody is able to comply all of them. Taking this into consideration, we need to establish objectives about the gender equity. It is represents that we should not think, for example, that only men can be strong or have the authority, or that only the women can take care the children. But it implies commitment of our part, to generate the change that pursues the wellness of all.

Part I. Comment from Oprah’s video.
The Power of Philanthropy
According to Oprah the power of each person is authentic, unique and cannot be removed. This power comes to nourish our soul and is part of our personality. Part of this power is the philanthropy that we apply in our life, which is born when we want and wish from our heart to impact on the lives of others. In Oprah’s case, she did so by deciding to open a boarding school in South Africa, where girls in poverty can learn to be the best version of themselves and their impact on the world.
Oprah believes that the real empowerment occurs in a person when he/she makes the decision to share what has been given to us and use it to serve something greater than ourselves that is to be a truly empowered person. As part of this empowerment is the legacy we leave in the world every time we positively influence a person’s decisions to change something that affects them.
Finally, Oprah has achieved in her life to leave a legacy where she has helped impact young women who realize they have opportunities to succeed. In addition, she has taught people that whether they are famous or not, it is possible to do positive actions for each person who crosses our path.
Undoubtedly the empowerment and being with the right people, made that Oprah has been able to achieve success, being aware of the relevance of education in women sets the tone in her career, beyond recognition it must be watched because the message is transmitted to the following generations, that we are all equal and that education will open opportunities that nobody imagined.

Text
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/10/science/black-hole-picture.html
What does the text talk about?
What draws your attention?
Why do you think this is important?
María:the report is about a black hole, what we normally think is that they are not visible, but this one that the scientists managed to observe is 55 million light years away from Earth, it looked like the Eye of Sauron. What I am most interested in the report is that for centuries we thought that these holes were invisible but at this moment it is the opposite, I consider it important to conduct studies on the consequences that this would have on the earth.
Priscilla: The text talk about the first capture of a black hole and how astronomers, for many years, have been trying to figure out how a black hole looks like and now it’s a reality millions light years. Also, it adds the relation between Einstein's theory and what was found. There are three things that draws my attention: the first one it’s that almost everything in this life is mystery, the second is that how amazing is the Universe, it couldn’t be created by coincidence and the last is there are many things that we can’t even how they look like or if there even exist. I think it’s very important because is the first picture of one of the most secretive things in the cosmos
Deborah:The article mentions the existence of a black hole, it is a ring of smoke that frames a gateway to eternity.
What strikes me is that the scientists could have seen it after we thought it was not visible, it is important for the technological advance and to know more about the galaxies.
