There are different bodies and institutions around the world will watch over the rights of people are respected and treated with the same conditions. Visually, physical disability, a disease that find it difficult to develop in a society, deserve to be incorporated into the world and be treated without any discrimination. Which all people have the same conditions as access to any place, premises of a company, the right to work and not suffer discrimination because of their condition; They are part of growing a more inclusive and egalitarian society in all areas (education, health, transport, working life).
In the workplace different types of inequality of opportunity that should not be recognized. For example: Opportunities to apply for a job interview, opportunity to be trained and promoted within the organization, opportunity to work with equality and justice. It is important that within the organization arises policies, rules and regulations that support and substantiate equality within the company. Gender equity practices that ensure inclusion and equal opportunities for all employees. The employees are treated by their performance in their job and not by conditions such as gender, race, disability; motivate employees to develop and meet their goals and to be treated with more justice and equality.

It is important to know that there are institutions that monitor that all people are treated with the same conditions and if not so , will assert our rights. At the time that a person has an opportunity to be interviewed it should be clear that whatever their condition deserves respect and keep on hand exactly the same number of opportunities to all applicants, and when hired enjoy equality of treatment in assigning tasks , performance, zero discrimination and many other behaviors that can affect the integrity of a person.
It is clear that all people work to meet the personal needs that we all have , therefore, the right to wage must not be affected by any difference that has nothing to do with education. In addition , everyone has the right to rest and enjoy relaxation times for ensuring the good performance of all workers.

ResponderEliminarI draw much attention especially the company TACO BELL because, in the last several times I've gone I've seen people with disabilities working there, one of them was working at the cash register, and another in the cleaning area.
Contextualized in my educational life I have seen how the TEC has advanced in terms of equal opportunities, for example, the corridors have been adapted for people with visual impairments to pass through them, also adaptations in the information signs for example in the area the library have a relief in Braille.

The group of older adults suffer from lack of job opportunities, because they to Companies is easier hire young, even if they have the necessary characteristics to labor. Also people with different sexual orientation, have suffered and are currently suffering from a lot of inequality in relation to rights that allow them equality before the other groups, lack of employment opportunities and even now hiring and lack of respect for other individuals on the street, social networks and other public spaces. I believe that equal opportunities must be introduced into the minds of children that everyone has the same value, they all have the same rights. All organizations in Costa Rica work for the implementation of these rights and especially by Act 7600 of "Equal opportunities for people with disabilities", this law seeks companies ensure compliance with the rights of individuals and they have free access to all facilities of the organization.
Nowadays jobs are given equality and justice, and that discrimination is illegal, which is why all persons applying for a job should be treated equally and with equal opportunities.
It is very important that society practice and work more the issue of disability discrimination because these people are entitled to fair practices and behaviors in assigning workloads, workplaces free from discrimination.

The objective of the company is to get the best place to work and to remove barriers, everyone has a chance to demonstrate all skills, regardless the condition and even any disability. I know a case from a partner that during the high school had a corporal paralysis, he had received therapy after it and he was recovering gradually, I knew that he had the opportunity to get a job in a good company with no restrictions.
In my opinion, a good attitude from everyone is one of the most important things to evaluate, it can get a tremendous change in any disabled person, I mean the best attitude could make big changes to get better results.

ResponderEliminarMy analysis based on the article and my personal criteria is that “equal opportunities” refers to a new paradigm that needs to be spread and assimilated by modern society as soon as possible. This in order to become a usual way of relating among people, with no exceptions allowed.
In my day to day at college, and in my daily living it’s a shame that I can still notice, how far we as a society are of providing “equal opportunities” to everyone. For example, the pay gap for similarly qualified employees, that its expose when it comes down to genre. Women nowadays keep receiving a less reattributed pay by the exact same work that men in their positions do.
But the main idea of this composition is to tell the world that it’s time for a change, and that consciously educated new generations have the answer in their hands. And to illustrate this, there was a situation that I had the opportunity to witness at a “Fresh Market” near my home. There a person with a physical disability was working in equal conditions as his coworkers, not only as a cashier, but also physical work as carrying products from one stand to another at the other site of the market. However, the part that caught my attention was when the break came he was having a blast laughing with his coworkers out of a normal situation or problem they face during their work, you could really see the fellowship in a clear way.
Finally, I think that we are on our way to achieve “equal opportunities” for every single person. But, it’s a long journey that is going to require determination and passion to achieve it.

Because they have built better sidewalks and ramps for this people and there are ways to report abuse cases. However, there is a lack of special buses for people in wheelchairs and there is no special sports or activities for disability people in general.

I think that in the tec the discrimination by sexual orientation has been decreasing considerably to the point that the students and officials show more respect and tolerance for the LGBT population that is present in the tec, also in the institution it is day after day of promote respect and acceptance towards this sector of the population, there are several activities and banners that try to expose the issue and also raise awareness of the equality that must exist and that no matter what the sexual preference of each one , we all have the right to choose what we like and it makes us feel good.

I think that in our university there is total equality of opportunities in this area, this because there is a variety of ages between the students and also the workers. Although there is a large majority of the population that is within a similar average age, there are also many people of older or younger ages, in the time I have been in this institution, I have never seen this generate any kind of conflict between people. All are focused on performing their tasks, the age of the people with whom they work does not influence the final result, what does influence is the attitude and the way of working of the person.

The equal opportunity about sex in TEC has different opinions. In general, in the campus there is not any problem with that topic, your sex is not a problem in the university, you can study whatever career because in this age it´s normal to see that. It´s comfortable to know that in our university has opportunities for all people and as student knows that is a good place to learn. But I see some cases where sex to produce difficult in learning. In my career there isn´t many women, I think that is because the projection of the career to the people. This career is opened for all people and it doesn´t matter the sex, I believe that is the most important.

The topic I chose to talk about equal opportunities was by sex. Here in the TEC is trying to promote equity and equality. what happens is that there are still more men. since it was thought that engineering was only for men. then before here only men enrolled. but the increase in women interested in engineering has grown. What sometimes happens is harassment from teachers or giving birth to women, this does not cease to exist. or the treatment of some teachers tends to be disrespectful. They doubt our capacity as women.

ResponderEliminarOver the years, this issue has been one of the major causes of discrimination, which has sought a constant struggle for people with a sexual preference different from the imposed by society. Today, in the ITCR this group of people has the space and security that many universities do not have where everyone can come and be part of this group, since many students feel identified, may be suffering any kind of discrimination, or are embarrassed of their sexual orientation, so that the group of sexual diversity, seeks ways to help and guideso they no longer feel alone. Groups like these are an essential source of help for many people, so it creates greater security and greater tolerance for college and students.

EliminarHello Alejandro, actually the TEC have so many oportunities to people with differents needs, for example for the pregnancy the TEC have a place to the childrens and a politics to favor them. The people with disabilities too have oportunities in some carrers in the TEC, also the adaptations in the buildings are kinds of support to them.

I say this because I have seen very young people and also older people than my in some of my classes. In addition there is no requirement for enrollment or for another procedure in which age is a factor of importance, so no matter your age you can enter the TEC and take advantage of its services.

Hello, my name is Maria Vega, I will comment about sex. TEC has no difference between genders, the registration has no preference when you do the admission exam. Neither when you have to choose your courses, they do it in order of the balanced average. TEC has an department of gender and equality, so in any case there's something that irrespects you, you can go there and report the abuse you felt. There's also no preference in classes when you do an exam or a quiz between the classmates.

Pregnant woman rights is a delicate topic that people have been arguing about for a while, and after a fight of too many years there are some results. For example in TEC, employees who are in their pregnancy period can take vacations recieving payment for it and also keeping their job. When a student gets pregnant, they receive help from TEC if they need it, not only talking about academic bussines but also about economic help.

I think that this area of Equal Opportunities has a very good representation in the TEC because there are different politics that makes the university to have the necessity to follow them. So that is why we can see that the law 7600 makes to the different public places have certain conditions for people who have any kind of disability. So according to this we can see that in the TEC there is an elevator for each building. Also we can see that there are different ramps all over the TEC, those ramps have the objective to help any person with any kind of physical disability. On the other hand, we can see that the TEC also has equal opportunities related to the people that have any kind of mental or intellectual disability. So that is the reason that we can see that there are different types of possibilities such as more time in a test or specific tests, etc.; all this doing the TEC a place that respects disability´s area.

ResponderEliminarWell, first of all, I would define equality as “give each person what they deserve according to their necessities”
And that’s why I think our university is a great example of the application of equality. For example, people with any disability, with physical, you can see that around the place there are elevators, ramps, also special restrooms. Another example of how concerned are the authorities of the university is that there are some “campaigns” to include everybody as they start this process. Like IntegraTEC, where the students receive some capacitations to learn better how to treat people with physical disabilities or mental disorders too.
In topics related with the age we can see that our university has equal opportunities because they are going to acept you once you pass the admision test, they do not care how old you are. We, as students, have had classmates from all the ages. You can see students from 17 years old until 30 years old or maybe more.
